OUR FOUR-YEAR-OLD CLASSROOM IS DESIGNED TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENTAL MILESTONES OF CHILDREN IN THE PRESCHOOL AGE RANGE.

In this classroom children are encouraged to engage in more complex learning activities and build upon the skills they have already developed.

Here are some examples of what you might expect to see in a typical four-year-old classroom:

Cognitive Development

Four-year-olds are developing their cognitive skills rapidly. In the classroom, they may participate in more complex counting and sorting activities, recognize letters and numbers, and engage in problem-solving tasks that require higher-level thinking. Our teachers encourage language development by reading books, engaging in conversations, and providing opportunities for writing.

Language Development

Four-year-olds are expanding their vocabulary and learning to express themselves more clearly. In the classroom, they are encouraged to participate in group discussions, share their thoughts and ideas, and engage in more complex storytelling and writing activities.

Gross and Fine Motor Skills

Four-year-olds are also developing their gross and fine motor skills. In the classroom, they participate in activities such as running, jumping, skipping, and throwing, and engage in more complex manipulative activities such as drawing, coloring, and cutting.

Social and Emotional Development

Four-year-olds are continuing to develop their social and emotional skills. In the classroom, they are encouraged to work collaboratively, take on leadership roles, and develop their empathy and emotional regulation skills.

Overall, our four-year-old classroom provides a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports children's growth and development across multiple domains. Teachers in these classrooms are trained to understand the developmental milestones of young children and to provide activities and experiences that promote learning, exploration, and socialization.
